Muss Bertolino and Woodlake advanced to the semi-final games of the 11- and 12-year old Biddy Basketball White Division with key opening round wins.
Muss Bertolino defeated Butch Duhe 25-22 to advance.
The Hornets outscored the Lions 12-6 in the third quarter to take the lead and hold off the Lions for the win. Balance scoring was the key to the Hornets win. Adam Auduong led Muss Bertolino with nine points including the only five points, scored in the fourth quarter by the Hornets . He scored on a 3-pointer and a field goal. Ashton Bonura chipped in with five points on two field goals and a free throw. Darryl Deist Jr. added two field goals. Christian Canales Edwin Sortina and Chandler Patten pitched in with a field each. Jeff Fernandez knocked down a free throws.
Tyler Escarra scored 11 points including seven in the final quarter to lead the Gators to a 55-44 win over Wentwood to advance in the four team double elimination playoff.
Woodlake out scored the Indians 19-10 in the fourth quarter to gain the win.
Blake Baker scored seven of his nine points in the quarter. Rahul Rata chipped in 10 points, including a 3-pointer in the last period. Matthew Bennett knocked down eight points. Kyle Holzman scored three field goals for six points. Zachary Ward added 5 points, and Tack Meehan earned four points. Cole Sheehan and David Drago finished off the scoring with two points each.
Lance Gaylor kept the Indians in the game with 22 points on nine field goals, a 3-pointer and a free throw. He scored eight of Wentwood's 10 fourth quarter points. Darryl Patterson contributed to the effort with 11 points including two 3-pointers. Jordan Smith added five points on three free throws and a field goal. Marcus Martin scored three points and Chris Rodriguez made two points. Damion Jeanpierre knocked down a free throw.
