The Hornets are off to a good start despite a challenging early season schedule.
They started the season with back-to-back games at Golden State and at Phoenix, the first of five back-to-back sets in the first month of the season. They beat the Warriors, 108-103, on Wednesday and beat the Suns, 108-95, on Thursday.
"It's very important to get as many wins as possible, especially in the Western Conference," point guard Chris Paul said. "These are big wins early in the season."
The Hornets play their home opener against one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference when they meet the Cavaliers on Saturday.
HORNETS 108, SUNS 95: The Hornets scored the first nine points of the game and never lost the lead Thursday night in Phoenix to improve to 2-0.
The Hornets held a 30-23 lead after one quarter and built the lead to 56-44 at halftime.
