--All-Star forward David West was named the Western Conference Player of the Week on Monday. West averaged 28.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.5 blocks as the Hornets went 4-0 during the week of Feb. 23-March 1. West, who had never won the award before, had three double-doubles during the week, including two games in which he had at least 30 points and 10 rebounds.

--The Hornets, who had shot less than 20 percent on 3-pointers in their last three games, made 10-of-16 against the Sixers.

--The Hornets outrebounded their opponent for the fifth consecutive game, finishing with a 50-39 edge.

--The Hornets, who were outscored in fast-break points by the Nets, 16-0, a night earlier, were outscored 23-2 in the same category by the Sixers.

--The Hornets improved to 8-7 on the back end of sets of back-to-back games.

--The Hornets swept the season series from the 76ers, 2-0. They also finished 2-0 against the Nets, Pistons, Pacers, and Raptors. They split two games each against the Magic, Cavaliers, and Bobcats. They split four games with the Trail Blazers, lost three of four to the Lakers and lost both games against the Celtics.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "We're starting to play well together. We're trusting each other a little more, and that's going to benefit us down the road." -- Forward David West on the Hornets' season-high five-game winning streak.
