New Orleans Hornets Notes, Quotes 2009-03-16
--The Hornets matched their fourth-lowest point total of the season for the second time on the road trip. They scored 79 in their other loss -- against the Hawks, who also held them to 79 in New Orleans. The Hornets scored 78 against the Cavaliers, 77 against the Celtics, and 68 against the Magic.

--The Hornets missed all 11 of their 3-pointers and got outscored in that area by 30 points as the Bulls made 10 of 25.

--As a team, the Hornets had just 10 assists, one fewer than point guard Chris Paul's league-leading average.

--Despite being beaten handily, the Hornets won the rebounding battle for the 10th time in 11 games, outrebounding the Bulls, 43-39.

--The Bulls became the third Eastern Conference team to sweep the season series from the Hornets, joining the Celtics and the Hawks. The Hornets have swept seven Eastern Conference opponents -- the Bucks, the Wizards, the 76ers, the Nets, the Pistons, the Pacers and the Raptors. The Hornets split the season series with three Eastern teams -- the Magic, the Cavaliers and the Bobcats. In the West, they lost three of four to the Lakers, split four against the Trail Blazers, and swept four against the Thunder.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "Tonight was just terrible on both ends of the court in the effort department." -- Point guard Chris Paul, on the loss at Chicago in which the Hornets trailed by as many as 32 points.
