--General manager Jeff Bower and coach Byron Scott said they won't base their personnel moves on reactions to what rival teams do. The topic came up after the defending Southwest Division champion Spurs traded three aging role players -- Bruce Bowen, Kurt Thomas, and Fabrizio Oberto -- to the Bucks for forward Richard Jefferson.
"That goes into a panic stage," Scott said. "We're not doing that. QUOTE TO NOTE: "We've talked and had more meetings this summer than we have in the last year and a half or two. We both understand how important this is to make sure we do get it right." -- Coach Byron Scott on he and general manager Jeff Bower's determination to fill holes that were exposed during the team's lopsided loss to the Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs.
