--The Hornets' team in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas had its most wins ever (4-2) in the league, which came a year after they finished 0-5. C Hilton Armstrong showed glimpses of an improved offensive game, averaging 14.0 points. Swingman Julian Wright struggled offensively, shooting 33 percent and averaging nearly five turnovers per game.
--The Hornets had expressed some interest in re-signing reserve C Chris Andersen, but he chose to sign with Denver. The Hornets' top priority remains re-signing reserve G Jannero Pargo, who is seeking a three-year deal. QUOTE TO NOTE: "I told him I'd be very disappointed if he doesn't average 15 or 20 minutes a game. The biggest thing with Julian is having that aggressive mind-set. At times when he was in games and came in with that, he had great games. When he came in and looked unsure of himself, that's when he had poor games." -- Coach Byron Scott, on his growing expectations for second-year swingman Julian Wright.
