ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Chris Paul, Guard Rasual Butler, Small forward Peja Stojakovic, Power forward David West, Center Hilton Armstrong. Bench -- Forward James Posey, Forward/center Sean Marks, Point guard Antonio Daniels, Guard/forward Devin Brown, Forward Julian Wright, Guard Morris Peterson, Center Tyson Chandler, Forward/Center Melvin Ely, Forward Ryan Bowen.

PLAYER NOTES:

--G Chris Paul, coming off a career playoff-low four points, scored 12 but made just 5 of 16 shots and finished with 10 assists.

--F David West had his best game of the series, scoring 24 points, shooting 50 percent for the first time (8-for-16) and adding nine rebounds.

--C Hilton Armstrong, starting in place of injured Tyson Chandler, had seven points and six rebounds before fouling out early in the fourth quarter.

--F Peja Stojakovic scored the Hornets' first seven points of the game and finished with 12, making 5 of 12 shots, including 1 of 6 3-pointers.

--F James Posey, who might have been the most consistent Hornets player during the series, scored 18 points.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--C Tyson Chandler was inactive for Game 5 because of an inflamed left ankle.
